BIO

Joseph Warren Schnering is a local man from Southeastern Wisconsin. He grew up in Burlington and currently lives in Lake Geneva, where he has resided since 2004. Joseph is the father to three teenage boys; Drew, Dylan, and Deven. The outstanding schools and exceptional youth programs that Lake Geneva provides has made it an ideal location to raise a family. Joseph is most proud of being a father and positive role model to his three sons.

Over the last 12 years, Joseph has been a prominent figure in the community of Lake Geneva. He believes that volunteering and a strong sense of family are what makes a community successful. Joseph believes, “There is a lack of good volunteers in today’s society, so step up and be part of the solution.” His love for helping children is second to none, and he takes great pride in being a positive role-model. He has coached youth wrestling for 8 seasons and youth football for 4 seasons. Joseph has also volunteered at local schools and is an active member of his community church.

Joseph joined the United States Army Reserves in November of 1995. Over the last 22 years, he has been truly blessed to meet and work with outstanding individuals. His military accomplishments and the pride he has for his country, are the biggest factors in his decision to continue to serve today. Joseph believes in leading by example, which can be shown in the events that led to his military enlistment initially. After a friend lost his job, Joseph took him to the Army recruiter and enlisted alongside him. This is a glowing example of his ability to lead others.

Joseph has been called upon to deploy three times in his career. In February 2003 he served in preparation of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Near the end of 2003, he was sent to Bagram, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. While deployed, Joseph served as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) at Bagram Ammunition Supply Point. In 2007 an officer that he had previously served with, called upon Joseph to serve as senior ammunitions inspector at Tallil Air Force Base, Iraq. Upon his return home in 2009, Schnering served as the Platoon Sergeant of the 826th Ordinance Company. He held this post until 2014 when he transferred to the 86th Training Division. His primary job is to train and evaluate troops to ensure they are ready to perform their duties overseas. Over the course of his military career, Joseph’s first priority is the well-being and preparedness of his soldiers, in both their military duties and life.

Beyond his military duties, Joseph has been a carpenter most of his life. He has also worked as a Mold Maintenance Technician, and as a Department of Defense human resources specialist. Currently he is employed at the James A Lovell Federal Healthcare Center as a carpenter. He has been quoted as saying, “I have the best job in the world, I get to work with American Heroes every day.” He cites his dedication to helping others as the reason he has been successful at any position he has held.

Joseph started gaining interest in politics in 2009. As he began to research, it became apparent that the system was broken. Joseph feels the bipartisan system is hindering the ability for the country to prosper. His belief is that issues should be looked on a topic by topic basis. The inability of those currently holding office to have views based on beliefs instead of falling along party lines is a major issue with the current political landscape. Schnering believes you can see where a candidate will vote on an issue, if you just “Follow the money.” Joseph vows to seek out corruption and vote based on issues not donors. He will represent THE PEOPLE, not special interests. He has dedicated his life to serving others, and would be grateful for the opportunity to continue serving with Integrity and Selflessness.
